Privacy notice

Last updated: 21 October 2026

This privacy notice explains how Elliott Coaching Limited uses personal information when you use thekarlelliott.com, contact Karl, book a call, join Press Pause 90 or Redefine, buy a service, take part in a programme or otherwise interact with the business.

Who is responsible for your information

Elliott Coaching Limited is responsible for the personal information covered by this notice.

Contact: karl@thekarlelliott.com

If you have a question about how your information is used, want to exercise one of your data-protection rights or want information corrected or deleted where applicable, please contact Karl at the email address above.

Information we may collect

Depending on how you interact with the business, we may collect information including:

  • your name;

  • email address;

  • telephone number;

  • booking information;

  • payment and transaction information;

  • programme or membership purchased;

  • programme dates and membership status;

  • correspondence with Karl;

  • information needed to provide coaching or programme support;

  • your Facebook name or profile details where needed to provide access to a private member community;

  • information about how you use this website;

  • cookie and website analytics information where applicable; and

  • information you choose to provide when communicating with or working with Karl.

We only aim to collect information that is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it is being used.

Press Pause 90 safety check

Press Pause 90's seven-question website safety check runs in your browser.

Your answers are not sent to Karl, stored in the PP90 member register, added to a mailing list or used as medical records.

The check is intended to help direct people towards appropriate next steps. It is not medical clearance and does not confirm that stopping alcohol is safe for an individual.

If the safety check indicates that medical advice may be appropriate, the website directs the visitor towards suitable NHS or medical support.

Payment information

Payments are handled securely by Stripe.

Elliott Coaching Limited does not need or intend to store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.

Stripe processes payment information under its own terms and privacy arrangements.

We may retain information about a transaction, such as the customer name, email address, amount paid, product purchased, payment date, payment status, refund status and Stripe transaction or session reference where this is necessary to administer the service, maintain financial records or resolve a payment issue.

Why we use your information

We may use personal information where necessary to:

  • respond to enquiries and communicate with you;

  • arrange calls and coaching sessions;

  • process and administer purchases;

  • provide Press Pause 90, Redefine or other services you have chosen;

  • set up and manage programme access;

  • maintain programme dates and membership records;

  • provide access to private member communities;

  • send information needed to deliver a purchased service;

  • provide customer service;

  • administer cancellations or refunds;

  • keep appropriate business and financial records;

  • operate, protect and improve the website;

  • understand general website usage;

  • prevent misuse, fraud or security problems;

  • meet accounting, tax and other legal obligations; and

  • establish, exercise or defend legal rights where necessary.

The legal reasons we use information

The legal reason for using information depends on what we are doing with it.

This will commonly include:

Contract: where using the information is necessary to provide something you have purchased or joined.

Steps before entering a contract: for example, when you contact Karl about working together or book a conversation before deciding whether to buy a service.

Legitimate interests: where information is reasonably necessary to run, secure and improve Elliott Coaching Limited and its services, provided those interests do not override your rights.

Legal obligations: where information must be kept or used to meet accounting, tax, regulatory or other legal requirements.

Consent: where the law requires us to ask for your permission before using particular information or technology.

Health-related information

Press Pause 90 is coaching, not medical treatment.

People may sometimes choose to disclose information relating to their health, alcohol use or previous experiences when communicating with Karl or taking part in coaching.

Health information receives additional protection under UK data-protection law.

We aim to minimise the amount of health-related information that is collected or recorded.

Where Elliott Coaching Limited intentionally records or otherwise processes health-related information, there must be both an appropriate legal basis for using personal information and an additional legal condition permitting the use of health information.

Where we rely on your explicit consent to record or use health-related information, we will ask for that consent separately. You can withdraw that consent, although this does not affect lawful use of the information before consent was withdrawn.

The Press Pause 90 website safety check is not medical clearance. If you may be physically dependent on alcohol, have experienced withdrawal symptoms or are concerned about changing how you drink, you should seek appropriate medical advice before doing so.

Services we use

Elliott Coaching Limited uses third-party services to operate the website and business.

These currently include:

  • Squarespace for the website and website services;

  • Stripe for payments;

  • Calendly for booking calls;

  • Google Workspace, including Gmail, Calendar and Sheets, for business administration;

  • Google Apps Script for parts of Press Pause 90 administration and onboarding; and

  • Facebook/Meta for the private Press Pause 90 member community and other business social-media services.

These providers process information under their own terms, privacy arrangements and contractual responsibilities.

We only intend to provide them with information reasonably required for the service being used.

Information processed outside the UK

Some of the technology providers used by Elliott Coaching Limited operate internationally and may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we rely on the protections provided by applicable UK data-protection law and the safeguards used by the relevant service provider.

You can contact karl@thekarlelliott.com if you want more information about the service providers used by the business.

Website analytics and cookies

Squarespace and connected website services may use cookies or similar technology for essential website functions, security and website measurement.

Some technologies are necessary for the website to work properly.

Other technologies may be used to understand how visitors use the website.

Where UK law requires consent before a non-essential cookie or similar technology is used, that technology will only be activated after the visitor has been given the required choice.

You can also control or remove cookies through your browser settings.

Advertising and Meta tracking

Elliott Coaching Limited may use Meta advertising or other online advertising services to promote Press Pause 90, Redefine and other services.

If advertising technologies such as the Meta Pixel or similar tracking tools are added to this website, non-essential advertising tracking will not be activated before the visitor has been given an appropriate cookie choice where consent is required.

Advertising technology may be used to understand whether advertising leads to website visits or actions, measure campaign performance and improve advertising.

We will not intentionally send sensitive information such as alcohol-use answers, health information, safety-check responses, names or email addresses to advertising analytics tools through website tracking events.

This notice will be updated if the advertising technology used by the website materially changes.

Email and communications

If you email Karl, book a call, purchase a programme or contact the business, we may use your contact information to respond and to provide information reasonably connected with that interaction.

Service emails may include information such as booking confirmations, programme information, payment information, onboarding instructions, calendar information or membership access.

Service messages are different from promotional marketing.

Where consent is required for promotional email marketing, we will obtain the necessary permission and provide a way to stop receiving those messages.

You can contact karl@thekarlelliott.com if you no longer want optional marketing communications.

Facebook and member communities

Some programmes may include access to a private Facebook community.

Where this applies, information such as your Facebook name may be used to confirm that you are entitled to join the community.

Participation in Facebook is also subject to Meta's own privacy terms and account settings.

If your membership or programme access ends, your access to the relevant private community may also be removed.

How long we keep information

Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the reason it was collected.

The length of time may differ depending on the type of information.

For example, some financial and transaction information may need to be retained for longer because of accounting, tax or legal requirements.

Programme and customer information may be retained where reasonably necessary to administer the service, deal with questions or disputes, maintain appropriate business records or meet legal obligations.

Information that is no longer reasonably required should be deleted or securely disposed of when appropriate.

Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information.

Information may be shared with service providers where reasonably necessary to:

  • operate the website;

  • process payments;

  • provide bookings;

  • administer programmes or memberships;

  • provide member access;

  • maintain business records;

  • provide professional services such as accounting or legal support;

  • protect the business or its customers; or

  • comply with the law.

Where appropriate, providers acting for Elliott Coaching Limited are expected to handle information only for the purposes for which their services are being used.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information used by the business.

This includes limiting access to information, using established service providers and avoiding unnecessary collection of sensitive information.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but personal information should only be accessed and used where there is a legitimate business reason to do so.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and the reason information is being used, UK data-protection law may give you rights including:

  • the right to ask for access to personal information held about you;

  • the right to ask for inaccurate information to be corrected;

  • the right to ask for information to be deleted in certain circumstances;

  • the right to ask for the use of information to be restricted in certain circumstances;

  • the right to object to certain uses of your information;

  • the right to data portability where applicable; and

  • the right to withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.

Not every right applies in every situation.

To make a request, email karl@thekarlelliott.com.

If we are relying on legitimate interests to use your information, you have the right to object to that use in certain circumstances.

If we are using your information for direct marketing, you can ask us to stop at any time.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how Elliott Coaching Limited has used your information, please contact:

karl@thekarlelliott.com

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data-protection regulator.

Changes to this notice

We may update this privacy notice when the website, services, technology or use of personal information changes.

The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
